Join us for the annual Chapelton Bike Ride 2024
Back for its ninth year, the Chapelton Bike Ride is returning on Sunday 1st September 2024!
A firm favourite in the Chapelton calendar, people of all ages are invited to take part in this fun-filled day to raise money and awareness for North East Sensory Services (NESS), a charity close to many hearts in Aberdeen that is dedicated to helping blind and deaf people achieve independence. The 2024 Chapelton Bike Ride will add to the exceptional £47,000 already raised by this event!
We’re delighted to announce Lathallan School as the headline sponsor of this year’s bike ride. Strong believers in the power of community and the importance of maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle, Lathallan School is a perfect fit to support this community-led event in Chapelton.
We would also like to thank Burness Paul, Brio Retirement Living and WM Donald, our fantastic sponsors that have supported this beloved Chapelton event throughout the last 8 years and helped us raise an amazing amount of money for such a worthy cause.
Whether you’re an experienced cyclist eager to take on a new fitness challenge or a non-cyclist looking to enjoy the family-friendly activities on the day, here is all you need to know about the event…
The Routes
A stunning ride through Chapelton, Durris Forest and Stonehaven, the Chapelton Bike Ride’s 46 mile route will begin at 10:30am, with the shorter 12 mile route starting at 12:00pm, cycling through the town’s roads and pathways.
For those looking to enjoy the picturesque views at a slower pace, a 5km walk through the picturesque estate surrounding Elsick House will also take place on the day.
Check in at The Hut will take place 30 minutes before each route begins.
Refreshments and entertainment
Following your cycle, you will receive a voucher at the NESS tent for some well-deserved hot food from one of our tasty suppliers in the square. And don’t forget to take your photo at our finishers board outside Brae!
Entry fees
For those taking part in the 46 mile route, individual entry fees registered online will cost £20, with group/team of 4 registrations costing £60. Individual entry fees for the shorter 12 mile route will cost £10 and a total of £30 for all groups/team of 4 registrations. An additional fee of £5 will incur for those looking to register on the day and registration will close on 28th of August.
Sponsorship opportunities
It’s not too late to become a sponsor of this year’s Chapelton Bike Ride! As well as receiving social media presence on our dedicated Facebook page, sponsors can also enter two cyclists to the bike ride and have their company logo displayed on the finishers board for only £300. If you are interested in sponsoring this year’s event, contact us here.
A huge thank you to our silver sponsors Acumen Financial Planning, our partner sponsors Stonehaven Cycling Club, Elsick Development Company, A&A Civils, MGA Architecture, A&R Services, JKR Contractors, Places for People, AJC Homes and Snowdrop Developments and a special thanks to Trinity Frameworks and Macphie. We couldn’t host this fantastic event without your support!
