Bike Ride a huge success

September 8, 2016

On Sunday 238 riders set out on a 42 mile and 12 mile route in glorious sunshine and enjoyed a beautiful route with some hills and spectacular views. They were cheered on their way out and home by hundreds of spectators many of whom went out on the Chapelton Walking Trail. On return they were entertained by Original 106 and a great acoustic duo Enter Alaska and together with food stalls, face painting and plenty of craft shops the atmosphere continued until late in the day

The bike ride was held in aid of North East Sensory Services (NESS), a sensory impairment charity that supports over 4800 people in the North-east. Over £6000 was raised for NESS through the Chapelton Bike Ride, which will help the charity provide social work and life-enhancing services to people who have sight or hearing loss.

All three housebuilding teams took part and the Chapelton design team because they wanted to raise money for the excellent cause. Most importantly the day was filled with good humour and a little rivalry that helped to keep the pedals moving!
