Locals get a preview of Liberty Retirement Living homes.

December 21, 2016

Chapelton has had its first glimpse of a proposed new phase in the town’s ongoing development.

Liberty Retirement Living, a new national provider of high-quality homes and lifestyle opportunities for the over-55s, has proposed a new 82-home community within the heart of the town.

The mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments and cottages in a range of sizes has been aligned to the same design principles that have made Chapelton such an attractive destination within the local area.

As well as new homes, at the heart of Liberty’s proposals for Chapelton are a Community Hub with a range of facilities; including a Brasserie & Coffee House, wellbeing suite, arts and craft room, a Club House for events and socialising, and more.

Around 30 Chapelton residents attended an information event regarding the plans recently; with 80% of written feedback indicating strong demand for retirement accommodation within the town.

Following the positive local response to Liberty’s proposals, a planning application has been submitted, with a decision expected in early 2017.

Karl Hallows, Director of Development and Sales at Places for People Retirement said: “Chapelton is quickly establishing its reputation as a thriving new town with huge potential for growth, as well as a clear focus on high-quality design.

“Liberty Chapelton has been designed to these same principles, and aims to provide a unique offer for later living in the Aberdeenshire area.

“The local response to Liberty Chapelton has been extremely positive so far; demonstrating genuine demand for a sustainable retirement community that promotes the very best experiences in later life.”
