For the first time since the Charrette in 2010 Andres Duany, a founder of Duany Plater Zyberk and a pioneer of New Urbanism, came to inspect the realisation of his vision and make some further suggestions for future projects.
Mr Duany commented “I feel this build has turned out to be a very Scottish project that couldn’t be built anywhere else and it is not like anything we have done before. Returning to the development it is remarkably similar to what we originally designed. I had expected changes and there are only slight, small differences.
He added that it was satisfying to see homeowners getting what they signed up for and welcomed the sense of community and traditional town lifestyle.
The Duke of Fife said that the development was everything he hoped for and he derived pleasure out of the quality of the buildings there was an even greater pleasure in seeing people living in them.
