Chapelton of Elsick 10K: A run to remember
What an incredible day it was at this year’s Chapelton of Elsick 10K! The town was buzzing with excitement, community spirit, and the thrill of the race. It was a day to remember, filled with smiles, cheers, and unforgettable moments. We are delighted to announce that this year’s Chapelton 10K raised a remarkable £5,200, which has been distributed among eight deserving charities and local organisations:
Over the past five events, a total of £22,000 has been donated, reflecting the incredible generosity and support of our community. Your contributions are making a significant impact, helping these organisations continue their vital work.
We’d like to share a massive thank you to everyone who made this event possible. Our heartfelt gratitude goes to the Chapelton 10K committee, Friends of Newtonhill, all the volunteers, the runners, businesses, and the entire community. Your unwavering support and dedication are what make this event a success year after year! A special shoutout to all the runners who participated – your determination and spirit are truly inspiring. Whether you were racing to achieve a personal best or simply to be part of this community event, you’ve all made us proud.
Are you inspired by the race and thinking about taking up running? The Chapelton 10K isn’t just a one-day event; it’s part of a larger effort to promote fitness and community engagement. To continue this spirit, why not join Chapelton’s Running Group? Founded by Ann Gallon, a dedicated Chapelton resident, the group meets every Wednesday at 6:30pm at Hume Square. The group is inclusive for all abilities, with sessions tailored to suit everyone. From speed work to hill training, or simply enjoying the beautiful trails around Chapelton, there’s something for everyone!
In addition to weekly runs, the group participates in various events, including treasure hunts and 5K races, making it a fantastic way to stay active and connect with fellow residents. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or a complete beginner, there’s a place for you in the Chapelton community.
