Couple Find First Home Together in Chapelton

Susan Matson had long been interested in purchasing a home in Chapelton but was holding out for the perfect property. Both Susan and her partner, Jim, loved the look and feel of the town and its community, so when the right property became available they jumped at the chance to call Chapelton ‘home’. 

Susan and Jim are now the proud owners of a three-bedroom ZeroC property. Speaking of their experience, Susan said: “We started looking at properties in Chapelton quite some time ago when the town was first under development. We instantly loved the design of the houses, the landscape and the community atmosphere but unfortunately, we didn’t find a home perfect for us.

“Both Jim and I had sold our own properties and a few years later, whilst visiting Newtonhill, we decided to nip to Chapelton to see how the town was looking. We had always had a three-bedroom home in mind and when sales adviser Sally from ZeroC showed us a couple of properties, including the Ardler and the Fiddes, we were surprised to find that we may have come across our dream home.

“The Fiddes has a little extra living space and ended up being the first home we purchased together.  We love the open plan kitchen, dining and living room at the rear of the house with the wood-burning stove being a particular favourite of mine. The large windows and high ceilings throughout the property allow for plenty of light to flow through – the sun tunnels are a unique feature which instantly grabbed our attention.

“Since moving in last summer we’ve met most of our neighbours and quickly become part of Chapelton’s bustling and growing community. We’ve been invited to plenty of occasions and celebrations, from gin tasting and street BBQs to a Halloween party. Everyone is incredibly friendly and we both love bumping into people on our walks around the town. Whether we’re on a short stroll or nipping into the town’s café, Teacake, everyone is always very welcoming.

“We really do love our new home and the life we’ve made together in Chapelton.”
