What’s been going on in The Hut?
The Hut, located on Liddell Place, sits at the heart of our Chapelton community and has become a much-loved space for residents and visitors alike. The versatile venue continues to host a wide range of events, classes and special occasions – bringing people together all year round.
Let’s take a look at what’s been happening…
10k race bib collection
As a true community hub, The Hut proudly serves as the registration base for the annual Chapelton of Elsick 10k race. Each year, runners gather here to collect their race bibs, soak up the atmosphere and prepare for the big event. It’s always a lovely and exciting start to race day!
Book reading with Rachel May
The Hut provided the perfect backdrop for author Rachel May’s captivating reading of Aunty Planty and the Eco Warriors with families with children gathering to enjoy storytelling, imagination and an inspiring environmental message.
Pam Picks
Scottish antique dealer Pam Picks hosted a beautifully curated pop-up event at The Hut. Pam, who sources decorative antiques and vintage homeware from all over the UK, Europe and beyond, transformed the space into a treasure trove of unique finds. Visitors from Chapelton and beyond browsed and had the opportunity to take home some charming statement pieces.
Pilates with Wyld Pilates
The Hut has also been transformed into a welcoming pilates studio. Chapelton resident and founder of Wyld Pilates, Lainey, hosts regular mat pilates classes in the space. These sessions on a Saturday morning have quickly become a favourite for those looking to improve strength, flexibility and overall wellbeing.
Coorie Comforts pop-up shop
Coorie Comforts styled The Hut with its signature cosy aesthetic for a special pop-up shop. Residents and visitors were invited to explore a range of homewares, handcrafted furniture and decorative pieces – all thoughtfully displayed to create a warm and inviting shopping experience.
Dried flower workshop with Efme & Bo
Efme & Bo recently used The Hut for a ‘Galentines’ dried flower bouquet workshop at The Hut – a wonderful opportunity to learn the process of creating a hand-tied luxury dried flower bouquet from scratch, complete with a glass of fizz and chocolates.
Following its success, not one but two Mother’s Day workshops at The Hut are already booked into the calendar!
Santa’s Grotto at the Christmas light switch on
Of course, The Hut is transformed into Santa’s Grotto every Christmas by the Chapelton Community Association, making it the perfect spot for children to meet the man himself!
Yoga with Jo Yoga Aberdeen
Hut Yoga has become a weekly favourite among residents, with Jo Yoga Aberdeen hosting classes every Monday. These sessions provide a calm and welcoming space to relax, stretch and recharge.
French classes
The Hut has also served as the perfect classroom for both adult and children’s French lessons, hosted by French Tutor – Aberdeen City and Shire. It’s wonderful to see language learning flourishing within the community!
Sound Bath and Summer Solstice Circle
Local award-winning bridal accessory designer, RedRocks, based at The Boxes, has also hosted special events at The Hut – including a relaxing sound bath and Summer Solstice Circle.
