5 steps to making increased movement a habit in 2023

With a new year comes a fresh start, alongside the resolution to make exercise and increased movement a priority. Often falling at the first hurdle, many people struggle to make movement a habit, not a hobby.

Fitness fanatic, Paul Hosie has been a personal trainer for 10 years and has a mission to help his clients achieve their health and well-being goals. Whether it be to lose weight, gain muscle, improve cardiovascular fitness or simply feel more confident in your own skin, Paul offers a variety of training options suited to all abilities.

Previously located at The Boxes at Chapelton, Paul’s business has recently expanded to a larger premises within Slate and Grain, demonstrating the success and hard work that has been put into growing the business and its community.

In this guest blog post, we caught up with Paul who shares five simple and easy steps to help turn increased movement into a habit, covering everything from identifying your goals to staying consistent …

Identify your goals

Before you start any journey – regardless of what it may be – it’s important to set yourself clear goals or milestones to aim towards. When it comes to increasing your movement, it’s essential to set goals that are realistic and achievable, as creating overly ambitious targets can damage your motivation.

Start by considering what you want to achieve through increased movement, whether it be to improve your physical fitness, help reduce stress or better your mental health. By having clear objectives, you will feel more focused and driven on your habit-building journey.

Make a plan:

Creating a plan is essential to help build habits as it allows you to stay organised, prioritise your time, set goals and track your progress. A well-crafted plan can provide a clear roadmap for achieving success and should be the starting point of your  journey. Additionally, a plan is a great way to hold yourself accountable as without one, it’s easy to lose sight of your aims.

The first step in creating a movement-based plan is to determine how you want to incorporate it into your routine and when you will do it. There are plenty of ways to add movement into your daily life, such as going for a walk every morning before work, taking a yoga class once a week or scheduling weekly workout sessions.

Start small:

It’s important to start slowly and gradually build up your movement habits. If you try to do too much too quickly, you may become overwhelmed and stressed. You ideally want to try and start with small, manageable tasks that are easier to stick to. This will help you build momentum and reduce the chance of burnout.

By starting small you have the flexibility and control to gradually increase the difficulty or complexity of your goals over time. For example, if you’re in a job which is predominantly office based and juggle a busy family life at home, then it may be unrealistic to set yourself the goal of reaching 15,000 steps every day. Instead, you should start by setting yourself a smaller more achievable target such as 5,000 steps, then gradually build this number up over time.

Track your progress:

Keeping track of your journey is extremely important because it allows you to see how far you’ve come and measure your current progress. It can give you a strong sense of accomplishment, motivation and encouragement to continue building the habit. In addition, it can help you to identify any roadblocks or challenges that you may be facing, so you can make relevant adjustments or changes to overcome them.

There are many ways you can keep track of your progress including a journal, a habit tracker or simply putting a mark in your calendar to record your daily movement. All of these suggestions can allow you to identify patterns or trends. For example, you may find that you are more successful at completing your movement goals in the morning rather than in the evening.

Stay consistent:

Habits take time to form, so you want to be consistent with your routine as this will make it easier for you in the long run. Consistency helps to overcome the initial resistance and discomfort that often comes with forming new habits, particularly those that involve physical movement.

Try to make it a part of your daily routine and be patient with yourself as you work to build the habit. There will be times outwith your control when you may not be able to achieve your movement goal for the day but it’s important not to let this discourage you.

Guest blog: Geocaching; a modern day treasure hunt!

If you enjoy the great outdoors with a side of adventure thrown in, then Geocaching could be a new hobby for you. From simple strolls around your neighbourhood to discovering new places, enjoying scenic walks or even scaling Munro’s, there’s a geocache to be found.

To find out more about this exciting and adventurous activity, we caught up with Ann Proctor, who has recently created a circuit around the Chapelton Trail for all to enjoy…

B-1G6br8qHXiA2pwPaqZcozeyPInyKQ53XYrQXcjHpTQ7tMb4eW14FZaRT6XbXNwIdom8R2UoJqwoAx9YMhQ6khMK-wztfd7SObwLicJIgAMSYlT_Ud0K2Loo3WkwV2DESestcSW1XCxR5OaTHLkU5nYrSd2CGidDi2UL8Hu9hizXtmS3K-Tl_aaP2tUyA Guest blog: Geocaching; a modern day treasure hunt!

What is geocaching?

“Think of it like a modern day treasure hunt guided by a GPS enabled device (usually your mobile phone).  Geocaches are waterproof containers hidden in a specific location that you are guided to by means of coordinates, which have been uploaded by the hider to the Geocaching application.

“Along with coordinates and a map of the area, there will be information provided about the individual cache, a difficulty and terrain rating and a helpful hint to point you in the right direction! Once at the location you undertake a search to find this container, which can vary in size and shape.

“Inside the container there will be a log book for you to date and sign and usually some treasure in the form of small trinkets left by the cache owner or other geocachers who have visited it too. The general rule of thumb is if you take a trinket, you should leave something of similar or greater value – erasers, badges, bubbles, marbles etc are always nice for kids to find!

“Re-hide the cache as you found it for the next geocacher to come along, there’s lots of us!  The last step, which can be done at home, is to log this find on the Geocaching app.  You will be rewarded with a yellow smiley face on the map and feel a huge sense of achievement.”

How long has Geocaching been about?

“This hobby has been enjoyed by many for around 22 years. Its humble beginnings, a solitary cache in Oregon, quickly spread to 75.  Today that figure is closer to 3million worldwide, you can literally enjoy this hobby anywhere you go!

“I personally started caching six years ago to have a cheap and easy hobby to do with my then young sons. Caching has taken us to many lovely locations and hidden gems over the years that we would otherwise never have known about.  Some abroad on holiday and some right on our doorstep.”

How do you start?

“I believe there are a few applications available, but I downloaded the free and official Geocaching app to my mobile phone.  From there, you create an account with an email address and a unique username, this will allow you a basic membership with access to a limited number of nearby caches.

“If you become slightly obsessed with this new hobby, there is an option to upgrade your membership to premium, which for about £20 per annum, will allow you access to all the various types of caches. For more information, I recommend visiting Geocaching.com.

“Once you are all set up you can create a list of caches you’d like to attempt on your outing.  By downloading the offline data at home, it will be readily available when you are out and about and not reliant on using precious mobile data.

“Finally, pack a rucksack, you will need a pen, tweezers (some caches are tiny), trinket swaps and I recommend taking hand gel and baby wipes too. Throw in a picnic and you are good to go!”

Are there caches around Chapelton?

“To mark my sixth year of Geocaching, I have created a caching circuit around the beautiful Chapelton Trail.  This circuit consists of eight caches of varying sizes, five of which are available to all basic members.

“This is an ideal trail for families with easily accessible containers and can be completed in one outing, which would take about an hour or in a few shorter walks with little people!

“So all that is left to do is pack that rucksack and step outside. Happy caching!”

Guest blog post: Meet LouSells

Lousells, The Mini Edition is one of the most recent local businesses to join The Boxes at Chapelton. With a passion for recycling and reusing clothes, this boutique offers preloved childrenswear and footwear plus a selection of new wooden toys, books and gifts.

To find out more about the business we caught up with the owner, Louise McIntosh…

LouSells-July-2022-2-1024x683 Guest blog post: Meet LouSells

Tell us a bit about your background/family and how you started the business?

“I’m Louise, I live in Newtonhill with my husband, three children, our dog Calvin and our bunnies Cheddar & Nibbles. After having my youngest and leaving my job in HR, we desperately needed a clear out of all things that no longer fit or weren’t used any more that the five of us had accumulated. Hating the thought of anything going to landfill that still had life in it but knowing that despite donating lots there were items that I felt were worth selling so our family could get the use of something new to them with the funds raised by selling.

“After realising that others were in the same position and lots of plotting and planning, the Facebook group was started and shared with close friends. It gave details on how the process would work and the sorts of things we would try to sell on your behalf. We had everything from glassware & golf clubs to jewellery & clothes. For the first year or two we sold locally on Facebook and through eBay and the page grew steadily. The corner in the spare room that I used became the entire spare room and the bed and furniture moved out to create a work and storage space. Towards the end of 2017 I made the decision to focus on fashion.”

How do you relax? What do you do in your spare time?

“Any business owner will appreciate that time to relax is few and far between but luckily I really love what I do so I thrive on the busyness of it. When I do switch off I enjoy hanging out with my family, socialising with friends & family, going for walks and exploring local areas we don’t visit day to day. During lockdown one of my best memories was taking the kids out and playing ‘This way or that way’ and we would let them take turns choosing which way we would go. Made the daily walk much more interesting.”

LouSells-July-2022-1 Guest blog post: Meet LouSells

What do you enjoy most about your job?

“The people! Without a doubt the people that I get to meet daily. Some days in the shop it is like an episode of Loose Women with lots of chatter about life, fashion and issues us women deal with daily. Seeing someone get that perfect outfit for an occasion when they couldn’t find anything on the high street and had exhausted all the online brands they knew of. We stock such a vast array of brands that you get the chance to try on something you likely didn’t know existed and often it was just what you were looking for.”

How did you discover The Boxes at Chapelton?

“We are lucky to live within walking distance and I’ve had a keen eye on Chapelton since planning was put in place. I had been keeping in touch with the team about progress over the years and had hoped one day that a space just right for LouSells would come up. The Boxes are exceptionally deceiving and what looks like a relatively small space can easily be turned to suit a variety of business requirements. When we got the call to say that one was coming available, we jumped at the chance to see how we could make it work.”

What do you like most about Chapelton and why?

“Without sounding like a wannabe twenty something, The Vibe! Chapelton has such a great feel, contemporary but classic. Since joining the boxes it has opened my eyes to just how supportive other businesses are of each other. These last few years have been hard on small businesses so it is great to have that business community behind you as well as customer support. We love being a part of Chapelton Life.”

Switching city life to countryside living: A catch up with residents, Julie and Cameron

Residents: Julie and Cameron Hughes

After living in a flat in the heart of Aberdeen’s West End for over six years, Julie and Cameron switched city living for the countryside as they moved into their brand new AJC Home in Chapelton, during November 2021.

Julie has watched Chapelton grow from the beginning, having worked in media and marketing for the town until recently. From the very early stages of initial ideas and drawings to watching the first residents move in, Julie played a key role in the Chapelton journey and has now decided to call it home.

Life in Chapelton

Why did you choose to live in Chapelton? What stood out to you most about the location?

“I have always loved country living, however, Cameron wasn’t quite ready to leave the city and Chapelton offered us the best of both worlds.

“There’s just something different about Chapelton. We’ve always loved older period homes and have never been drawn to new build houses, but Chapelton offers a bit of everything. We love that it’s only a 10-minute drive from the city, has plenty of character and gives us the benefits of modern living.”

lamp Switching city life to countryside living: A catch up with residents, Julie and Cameron

What do you love most about living in Chapelton?

“We love that we can still walk to a coffee shop but also wake up and see the countryside everyday. We’re lucky that our garden is right at the edge of the town so our bedroom looks out onto plenty of fields, where there is an abundance of cows and sheep and also often rabbits and deer.

“Being part of the local community is important to us and Chapelton has a great sense of community spirit – there is always something going on.”

Do you see yourself living in Chapelton long term?

“Yes! Our home is perfect for us right now and probably for the next 5-10 years. We often talk about a move within Chapelton at some stage.”

What would you say to someone who is considering buying a home in Chapelton?

“You need to come here and spend a bit of time to see all of the benefits. A visit to a showhome is great but attending a farmers’ market, walking the Chapelton Trail or visiting one of the local businesses brings everything to life.”

Our Home in Chapelton

Did you know what you were looking for in a home?

“Yes, we’d been looking for a house for around a year. We swithered between many but Chapelton just made the most sense to us.”

door Switching city life to countryside living: A catch up with residents, Julie and Cameron

Which features of your home attracted you the most?

“We’ve always admired AJC Homes properties – we love the traditional details included throughout their homes such as the high ceilings, coving and traditional wooden doors. All of these impressive small details make their homes beautiful and unique, something you can’t find in standard new builds.”

hob Switching city life to countryside living: A catch up with residents, Julie and Cameron

Do you have a favourite room in your home and why?

“At the moment our kitchen – it’s the room we focused on first and poured the most love into. We’re currently decorating one room at a time which means some of the house is still empty, but given the kitchen/living area is where we spend the most time we thought it made sense to focus on this room first. It’s such a social space and the blue range cooker that we added is an absolute favourite.”

What made you choose AJC Homes housebuilders?

“AJC Homes encompass the perfect balance between having traditional architectural features while still maintaining all the benefits that come with a new build home.”

Replenish @ Chapelton invites you to join the refill revolution

It’s been a busy first six weeks for Donna Maver and the team at Replenish, one of the new retail offerings at the Boxes at Chapelton.

Since picking up the keys at the start of July, it was all systems go to clean, prepare, and stock the shop ahead of its opening on 20 July and then it’s been non-stop during the few weeks of trading.

Stocking a range of zero waste products, refills, local produce, and fresh fruit and veg the Chapelton store is owner Donna Maver’s second shop – her first one opened in Stonehaven in November 2020.

We asked Donna to tell us more about what customers can expect from Replenish at Chapelton.

sunflower Replenish @ Chapelton invites you to join the refill revolution
Owner Donna Maver

Replenish at Chapelton is described as a zero waste and refill store can you explain what that means?

“We’re all about making it easy for customers to do their bit to reduce their environmental impact so the produce we sell is either plastic packaging free, has compostable or reusable packaging, or can be recycled.

“We also encourage our customers to BYOC – bring our own container – and join the refill revolution.

“Our customers can choose from a range of dried goods including rice, pastas, granolas, cereals, nuts, and herbs & spices plus eco-friendly cleaning products, shampoo and conditioner. Refilling and reusing containers is not only good for the environment, but it also means customers can buy only what they need.”

What are the benefits of buying only what you need?

“With the current pressures on household budgets, buying only what you need can help save money as well as reducing waste.

“Most of our fruit and veg is sold loose so rather than having to buy a pre-packed kilo of carrots, customers can buy just one or two saving money and avoiding plastic packing going to landfill.

“Plus, how many times have you found a new recipe that calls for a teaspoon each of several spices and those wee jars have sat languishing at the back of your cupboard for years? At Replenish, if you only need a couple of teaspoons of a few spices you can buy just that. Just bring your own container.”

What else can customers expect to find in store?

“We have a wide range of produce from local suppliers including jams and chutneys from Kincardineshire Castle Kitchen, sauces from Succulento, the Crafty Pickle Co kimchi and piccalilli, Deeside Honey, Katy’s Eggs, The Bread Guy bakery products, ‘dirty veg’ from Burnorrachie Farm, smoked fish from Sutherlands of Portsoy, Bannerman Butchers meat, gluten-free and vegan-friendly products and treats. There’s a range of eco-living products too including foil, greaseproof paper, kitchen foil, toothbrushes and toothpaste.”

How are you settling into the Boxes at Chapelton? We also noticed there’s a ‘weel kent face’ at Replenish – we’re delighted to see Katrina Castles is part of your Team.

“Our first six weeks have flown by – it’s been a busy time meeting new customers, getting to know our neighbours, and even a visit from our local MSP. There’s a lovely vibe at Chapelton and great community spirit. The Scarecrow Festival was a highlight – just lovely to see so many creations dotted around.

“We do indeed have a ‘weel kent face’ in the Team. I am so pleased that Katrina has joined us at Replenish. Katrina provides familiarity for our customers as she worked in the previous occupant’s greengrocery plus we have Deby Grant in the team too.”

denim Replenish @ Chapelton invites you to join the refill revolution

What else can we expect from Replenish?

We have a fruit & veg box order service – we prepare a small or large box of seasonal produce ready for collection. We also have our soup bags perfect for the start of Autumn and soup season. Each bag has all you need for a pot of hearty soup including recipe. We will also be running a Christmas fruit & veg order service to help make the Christmas prep a little less stressful.

The benefits of kids playing outdoors

Outdoor play is a huge part of childhood, it’s a chance for youngsters to engage with family and friends and learn vital skills without even realising. In fact,  spending time outside has actually been directly linked to physical, social and emotional growth.

In Chapelton, we wanted to create a space that offers children the chance to connect with the natural world and reap the benefits it has to offer, so earlier this year, we unveiled Patey Park, a unique playground for youngsters to experience endless moments of creativity and imagination.

Patey-Park-Opening-May-2022-16-1024x683 The benefits of kids playing outdoors

What is Patey Park?

Chapelton’s Patey Park is on the top of Cairnhill in the heart of the town. It features a vast range of natural elements that have been designed to encourage imaginative play and is perfect for skill development due to its layout.

Ideal for keen adventurers, the park is challenging, motivating children to explore the grounds and find out more about nature.

What are the main benefits of outdoor play?

The Scottish Government states that outdoor play “improves physical health” as well as “promotes mental, social and emotional well-being by helping to reduce stress”.

Additionally, it advises that this activity boosts “the development of essential social skills” thanks to meeting new people and having conversations with peers.

We caught up with Early Years Senior Practitioner at Newtonhill Primary, Jane Wallis to find out more. She said: “One of the key strands of the curriculum of excellence is confident individuals and playing in an outdoor setting will encourage self-assurance in children.

“It also promotes creativity and imagination, with natural play also supporting the development of motor and sensory skills as children run and climb on different surface levels of terrain.”

How does Patey Park encourage children to develop these skills?

The park’s landscape has been strategically crafted to inspire thinking and exploration.

Spread over a vast area, young adventurers can explore a series of winding paths, journey over mounds and slopes, rocks and boulders, logs, tree stumps, and balance beams and at the same time, will be developing their motor and sensory abilities.

Throughout the park, there are bases with flags for group games and nature areas where kids can take a break from playing and sit with their friends, both of which contribute to teamwork and communication skills.

Why is outdoor play important?

Jane explained: “Outdoor play is so different from indoor play and provides opportunities for children to develop different skills and areas of their personalities.

“Natural play holistically supports the development of a young person by connecting mind, body and soul.

“By exploring natural environments, children develop many valuable skills including decision making, problem solving and risk assessing to name a few. Once developed, skills like these will stay with them for the rest of their lives.

“I am sure that the children who come to play in Patey Park will use the creative opportunities that it has to offer and these adventures will become fond childhood memories that they reflect on later in life.”

Where is Patey Park?

Firstly, navigate to The Hut on Liddell Place in Chapelton using the postcode AB39 8BA. Once you arrive here, continue up Liddell Place, passing Landale Court (Brio Retirement Living) on the left and new construction on the right. Now follow the fenced pathway through the construction site and a temporary pedestrian crossing for your safety.

Please note that the ground here can be rough underfoot so please take care. Continue up the ramp to the top of the hill where you will find Patey Park.

Come and play, adventure awaits!

Cast your votes

Once you have had a wander around, it’s now time to vote for your favourite scarecrow – make sure to keep a note of the numbers noted on the scarecrows as these will be required when voting.

This year, you can cast multiple votes; a favourite individual entry and favourite group entry. These can be identified by the numbers attached to the scarecrow, the white numbers are for individual entries and the orange are for group entries. You will also have the option to pick the hero and villain that stood out to you the most.

All voting can be done online or via paper votes at Fits the Scoop at The Boxes at Chapelton or at the newly opened Brae Cafe located in Hume Square.

Can you tell us a bit about your local business and how you got started?

“My business is Stinky Beasties: Nature’s Pet Products which focuses on making handmade natural, vegan-friendly pet grooming and care products.

“I got started because of my own dog, Odin, who likes to roll in EVERYTHING! With having to wash him several times a week, the dog shampoo I was using was beginning to destroy his skin and coat, no matter what shampoo I used – nothing seemed to be getting rid of the horrible fox poop smell.

“After a lot of time, research and trial and error, I finally developed a charcoal shampoo made out of activated charcoal that helps to absorb bacteria and unwanted smells. This finally meant that no matter how often I wash him, he now always smells, looks and feels amazing.”

Have you been a part of the Chapelton Farmers’ Market before and what made you decide to sign-up?

“I’ve been taking part in the Chapelton Farmers’ Market since the end of last year – it is definitely one of my favourites. I decided to sign up because it was always a good market to visit as a customer, it has a loyal customer base and of course lots of dogs.”

What will you be selling at the market?

“We have a wide range of products including shampoo bars – perfect for removing any nasty odours. Our tasty pasty toothpaste is great for freshening the breath and removing plaque. It’s also ideal for dogs who don’t like having their teeth brushed as the toothpaste works as soon as it enters the mouth, therefore can be placed on chew toys.

“Additionally, we have nose balms, for added protection against the heat and paw balms which have a natural antihistamine in them. We have lots more products such as dry shampoos and more, all of which will be available at the market.”

Can you tell us a bit about your local business and how you got started?

“Now in its 3rd year, Singularity Sauce Co. was established to bring modern and flavourful hot sauces from the North East of Scotland to the world. Our country produces some of the best food and drink in the world and our ambition has always been to have the North East of Scotland well represented as a producer of great hot sauce.

“Choosing to ignore those who matter-of-factly stated that there was no market for it, we pushed on regardless. We now boast a two star great taste award, a top 10 finish in California for ‘the world’s best fruit based hot sauce’ and with two sauces in this year’s national top 100 list, we currently hold the award for best ‘calienté’ hot sauce in the UK.

“Our national press exposure continues to put the region on the map and we recently smashed our crowdfunder in only 12 days. We’re also currently working on our new sauce lab as we speak.”

Have you been a part of the Chapelton Farmers’ Market before and what made you decide to sign-up?

“We’ve been turning up to Chapelton since 2019. It’s the market we’ve attended longer than any other, and with good reason. The people of Chapelton and round about, always turn up and are keen to have fun and see what’s new. There is a fantastic list of producers at the market with something for everyone. We have lots of friends at Chapelton and look forward to the next market.”

What will you be selling at the market?

“Our range of small batch hot sauces are well known to the Chapelton crowd. This July, they will get to try and test our collection of prototypes. An opportunity to snag all 5 of our new HET SASS range in their prototype states, ahead of a formal launch later this summer. We’ll also bring a couple of BBQ sauces to the party because it’s July and everything is better in July with a great BBQ sauce.”

Barra Blades

Can you tell us a bit about your local business and how you got started?

“I run Barras Blades which is a professional sharpening service based locally out of Inverbervie.

“I grew up on the Isle of Cumbrae where I first learnt to sharpen using oil stones from my father who was a trained shop fitter. Through joining the merchant navy and spending many years working on a variety of ships and companies, I learned to fix and maintain just about anything.

“One of the catalysts to starting Barra Blades was when my wife, Helen decided to treat herself to some lovely new kitchen knives. To help keep her knives in top condition I invested in a Tormek sharpening system which led to me becoming the designated sharpener for friends, neighbours and family.

“After the oil crash and Covid-19, I found myself unemployed with lots of time on my hands and decided that it was time to make sharpening knives into a business, and launched Barra Blades.

“As the company grew, customers began to ask if I could sharpen other items such as clippers and hairdressing scissors, so I began searching and pricing relevant machinery. After spending the day with another professional sharpener, I decided that I liked what I saw and acquired a bank loan to help fund new machinery and training.”

Have you been a part of the Chapelton Farmers’ Market before and what made you decide to sign-up?

“Yes, we have been at the farmer’s market twice before and we signed up after being told about it by Bannerman Butchers who are also a regular feature at the market.”

What will you be selling at the market?

“We will not be selling a specific product since we are a sharpening service, however, we will be available to sharpen your kitchen knives, scissors etc.”

“Outside of the farmers’ market, we also appear once a month at ‘The Boxes at Chapelton’ where we run a pop-up sharpening event for other items such as garden tools. We view it as a business and public service as it is much better to get us to sharpen your knives than buy brand new ones.”

“We are a local family business with a commercial fishing boat. The catch comes directly to the Seafood Bothy to be made into unique seafood takeaway dishes. We are located on Stonehaven pier on the harbour in an old horsebox which has been converted and also have a second bothy which we take on the road.

“You cannot get much more fresh, as we really are from sea to table and take pride in sustainable fishing and delicious seafood!”

Have you been a part of the Chapelton Farmers’ Market before and what made you decide to sign-up?

“This will be our first time at Chapelton Farmers’ Market, we love the concept of it and have attended as visitors before.”

“We have a range of tasty seafood options to choose from including lobster burritos, crab wraps, lobster and crab pies, cullen skin pies, crab quesadillas, mackerel pate and seafood platters – a true seafood lovers dream.”

Cookie Cult

Can you tell us a bit about your local business and how you got started?

“I started Cookie Cult in December 2020 as an online bakery after getting made redundant from my job in oil and gas.

“I had been put on furlough and to keep myself busy I started making cookies and dropping them off to my friends and family to cheer them up. They started sharing photos of the cookies on social media and before I knew it, I had people messaging me directly to buy some.

“I’ve always loved baking, my first ever job was in a bakery so when I got made redundant it felt like the right path to go down. Initially, I worked from my small flat and from the offset I was baking hundreds of cookies a week so quickly outgrew my kitchen and had to relocate to larger premises. Now that life is going back to normal after covid I’m excited to take Cookie Cult to the next level.”

Have you been a part of the Chapelton Farmers’ Market before and what made you decide to sign-up?

“No, this will be our first ever time attending a Chapelton Farmers’ Market. Since this is one of our first ever markets we are slightly nervous but also very excited to attend. It looks like a great market with lots of amazing fellow local businesses!”

What will you be selling at the market?

“Thick NYC stuffed cookies and brookies.”

Keep an eye on social media as we announce more local businesses joining us this weekend!
