The Visitor and Sales centres opened at at Chapelton last weekend and 21 properties, accounting for more than 50 per cent of the very first homes available, were reserved by families and couples.
Housebuilders AJC Homes, Stephen and ZeroC offered prospective buyers the opportunity to put down a deposit on the first homes in the town at the newly opened on-site sales and visitor centre.
The opening of the site followed a house-type launch event at Union Square, Aberdeen, where a scale model of the first neighbourhood was displayed to the general public for the first time.
Nearly 1,000 attended the launch events at Union Square and the site, with over 40 people walking and bicycling on Chapelton’s newly created cycle-path from Newtonhill.
Developed by Elsick Development Company (EDC) Chapelton will be an 8,000 home, £2bn town with 40 per cent green space and a focus on sustainable community living.
Lord Southesk, director of EDC, said: “We are thrilled to have received such a marvellous response over the weekend. We were delighted by the number of positive comments and enquiries and I look forward to welcoming many more over the coming months. They will be assured of a warm welcome, at least, from Anita Collin who is running Teacake, her tearoom, in the visitor centre. I would encourage people to visit for that reason alone”
Prospective buyers who would like to be a part of Chapelton are invited to the new on-site visitor centre which is open Thursday to Monday 11am – 5pm. EDC and the house-builders will be available to explain the benefits of buying in the new community and to discuss the different opportunities for purchasing a house.
