We invite everyone to visit Chapelton during the month of August to see our wonderful scarecrows, vote for your favourite and donate to support some great local projects.

Chapelton’s Farmers Market 2021

Chapelton’s popular farmers’ market is held 4 times a year, offering a chance to purchase some of the finest produce from across the North East of Scotland.

The remaining dates for the markets this year are as follows:

Sunday 19th September

Sunday 21st November

Come along to our Farmers’ Market on Sunday 18 July. Hosted outdoors in Burgess Park, the event boasts over 25 stalls with a range of produce and items from local suppliers as well as hot food to take away.

The farmers’ market is open 11am-2:30pm.

To get here, use postcode AB39 8AE. On entering Chapelton, signage and marshals will direct you to free parking. Entry is also free.

Chapelton Bike Ride – 6th Edition

The annual Chapelton Bike Ride returns to the town for its sixth year on Sunday 5th September 2021.

Sponsored by Burness Paull the event will raise money for the charity North East Sensory Services, a cause dedicated to helping blind and deaf people achieve independence.

The Routes
• 42 mile route going through Chapelton, Durris Forest and Stonehaven.
• A shorter 12 mile route, cycling through the town’s roads and pathways.

Chapelton Wreath Making Class at Elsick House – Socially Distanced

We are so excited to bring you some festive cheer in the form of Chapelton Wreath Making Workshops with This is 36 Florals, taking place in the huge marquee at Elsick House.

Karen from This is 36 Florals will guide you through the whole process to make sure you go home with something to be proud of. From mossing up your wreath and adding lots of luscious winter greenery to personalising your creation with beautiful finishing touches including pinecones, fruit slices, berries and ribbons!

As these are in-person classes we have put measures in place to ensure your safety. We have a strict limit on the number of tickets available and participants will have their own individual workstation containing tools and materials to work with. The marquee will not be heated so wrap up cosy for winter and feel free to take a flask with a hot drink.

Following guidelines regarding COVID 19:

• One-way system

• Hand sanitisation points

• Socially distanced

• Individual workstation, materials and tools

• Tools and workstations sanitised before and after classes

• Mask to be worn on entry, exit and if moving away from own workstation

• Complimentary drinks and nibbles will NOT be supplied this year due to COVID 19 but please feel free to bring your own

• Free parking at Elsick House

• Class time – 2.5 hours

• Start and finish times are exact to allow for sanitisation before and after classes.

• Each participant’s name and telephone number will be taken for track and trace purposes

• Workshops are non-refundable

Should there be a change to Scottish Government coronavirus guidelines meaning the class is unable to take place in person, participants will be given a timeslot to collect materials and instructions for creating their own wreath at home. Karen will do a live demo that day, to go through the steps of creating a wreath and will be able to answer questions at the end. The demo will be recorded if you cannot watch at the allocated time.

Please do not attend this class if you have any symptoms of coronavirus.

Festive Farmers’ Market – November

The next edition of our popular farmers’ market returns to Chapelton on Sunday 22nd November 2020 at Burgess Park. 11am-2:30pm.

We’re bringing back all of your favourite regular stallholders and hot food, plus some new additions with a festive feel.

Marshals, social distancing, increased hygiene measures and a one-way system will be all in place again for your safety.

Chapelton Bike Ride 2020

A new format for 2020

Between 6th August and 6th September we are asking people to cycle 12 or 42 miles (can be the routes on www.chapeltonbikeride.co.uk or one of their own choosing.) to raise some money for our local charity North East Sensory Services. Individuals, families and teams can enter to donate by going to the website. When you have finished you can upload videos and photos to the Bike Ride Facebook and we hope to create a  video montage.  Sponsored by Burness Paull, WM Donald, Elsick Development Company, Portlethen Financial Services and ZeroC at Chapelton, participants will receive voucher emails – adults receive 2 for 1 coffee and cake at Slate & Grain (for use when it reopens), kids receive free ice cream from Fits the Scoop.


Online Escape Room Weekend (Timed Fundraiser)

Together with Elgin Escape, we’re bringing you something that’s sure to beat the lockdown boredom  – compete against your family, friends and neighbours. Which team will solve the clues, puzzles and brainteasers to complete our ‘Murder Mansion’ online escape room in the quickest time?

Proceeds from this game will be going towards the purchase of a defibrillator for Chapelton so get your household together, have fun and raise money for a great community cause too.

The details…
• Teams of 1-6 players (1 person required to register per team.)
• Internet connected device required (computer, laptop, phone or tablet. Will not work on Smart TV or console.)
• Register to play before midnight on Wednesday 20th May.
• Games to be played between Thursday 21st May 9am and midnight on Sunday 24th May. (You choose!)
• Entry is £10 per team.
• Access codes to play will be emailed to players by 21/5/20
• Game can only be played once (Please do not register if you have already played this game.)
• League table will be published on Monday 25th May – who will come out on top?
