The best chocolate the North East has to offer is coming to town. The wonderful chocolatiers from Aberdeen’s Cocoa Ooze are bringing their popular chocolate making experiences to Chapelton. With workshops for both adults and children, there will be fun for all the family.

The children’s workshop lets kids get creative with their tasty treats. The children will be guided through the process of making their own personalised chocolate bar, lollipops and marshmallow creations.

At our adults workshop you will learn the art of chocolate making and create your own chocolate truffles to take home on the day. Be sure to experiment with flavours and of course, make sure they pass the taste test!

Kids Workshop 11am-12:30pm (90mins approx.) Children must be accompanied by an adult. £16.50 per child.

Adult Workshop 1:30pm-3:30pm (90mins approx.) £30 per adult.

Chapelton invites you to come on a journey of Scottish spirits through the years. From the comfort of the AJC Homes Scotland showhome you’ll learn about the art of mixology and sample cocktails, expertly made before you by Orchid Aberdeen. Following that, you can choose to continue your evening with a four course meal at Teacake Bistro in Chapelton. Using locally sourced produce and fresh ingredients, Chef Bob Miller has created a Scottish menu that’s sure to mak’ ye sleber!

Mixology sessions will last approximately 45 minutes. Please arrive 15 minutes before your chosen start time of 18:30 or 19:15. You will receive a welcome drink on arrival, 3 tasting cocktails and a highball cocktail to finish, made for you by the expert staff of Orchid Aberdeen. £12 per person. Over 18’s only.

Optional 4 course meal at Teacake at 20:00hrs. £35 per person (£30 vegetarian option.) Please advise us of any special dietary requirements. Bring your own bottle! Guests will make their own way from the AJC Homes showhome to Teacake Bistro – a short 2 minute walk.

Swap your items for some new to you pieces of winter clothing and get a savoury scone and a bowl of warming soup from Teacake whilst you swap. Together we can fight fast fashion one swish at a time.

Join us at Hume Square in Chapelton for the community annual Christmas lights switch on!

We’ll have a very special guest joining us, ho ho ho, and make sure you bring your singing voice along as we’ll be getting festive with some Christmas carolling. Slate & Grain Brasserie and Bar will be staying open late for the occasion, serving up post switch on mulled wine and mince pies.

This year our trees will feature decorations crafted by children living in Chapelton as well as Chapelton Baby & Toddler Group, 1st Newtonhill Girls’ Brigade, 1st Newtonhill & Muchalls Brownies and 1st Muchalls & Newtonhill Scout Group.

Christmas lights will be switched on at 18:30 hrs.

Learn the art of lino cutting and make your own Christmas cards, envelopes and tags.

Whether you are a complete beginner or someone who has dabbled in printmaking before, come let your creativity flow at The Hut, Chapelton.

Using traditional lino cutting techniques, you will learn how to create your own printing blocks in this fun, easy workshop. Along the way you will gain invaluable tips from Laura, who is an illustrator and printmaker.

During this workshop you will print your own cards, envelopes and tags. You will also take away your lino blocks, an info sheet and the skills to carry on your new hobby at home.

Lots of examples and inspiration will be available in the workshop to get those artistic juices flowing. Do feel free to bring along sketchbooks/ideas for your stamp too. Simple large block designs and silhouette shapes work best for this type of printmaking.

Mince pies and refreshments are included. £36 per person. Booking essential.

Countryside Ranger Helen and Storyteller Diana will be coming to Chapelton to take preschoolers and young children on an Autumnal adventure!

Come for a wild walk with Kincardine and Mearns Countryside Ranger Helen Young who will lead us on a trail around Chapelton looking for crunchy leaves, muddy puddles and Autumnal colours.

Afterwards, return to The Hut for a hot chocolate and an interactive Autumn story with Diana Peers from the Grampian Association of Storytellers.

The event starts at 2pm at The Hut and will finish at 4pm.

All materials will be provided for you to make your very own luxury wreath using seasonal foliage, trimmings and ribbon. Karen will demo the process and be on hand to provide expert guidance so you can take home a Christmas wreath to be proud of. No experience required! Tea/coffee and mince pie included. Come and join our annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday 20th April.

We’ve hidden eggs all around the town and you’ll need to solve the clues to know where to find them before collecting your prize!

There will be egg decorating and face painting for the kids as well.

11am-2pm.

£2 per child (all money raised going to Abbie’s Sparkle Foundation.)
